I realize this is going to 'ruffle some feathers' but the way I see the Post season for the former/re-instated Coastal league is this- None of the teams have enough league games to be eligible for post season so they must 'play-in', in other words they are all "independant". The six teams involved should play in a seperate play-off and the winner plays in Dist IV's District tourney. I believe the WIAA will be setting a bad precedent if they allow 'the six' to be part of any District Tournament. I wont even get into what I think about Frazier.....
Let the stone throwing begin.....

it's an interesting situation. But what determines the minimum number of league games? Where do you see a minimum standard clearly stated? Please, inform me, because I'm pretty sure you're a knowledgable guy (if you're from where I think you're from). Also...the potential bracket I saw provides ample opportunity for the district YOUR team is in (again if you're who I think you are) to actually swipe a berth from D4.
The intra-independent playoff before the D4 District tournament is actually a good idea to me. But how would you seed that and determine matchups? Take the six teams: Taholah, Quinault, Wishkah, Knight, Oakville, North River. How do you determine who plays the two bottom teams? I believe head to head the "standings" as they would stand look like this: Knight Wishkah Quinault Oakville North River
and then Taholah.
Where do you put Taholah? They haven't played anyone of the other 5 schools. Do they automatically become the #1? What about making them #3?
There's too much that needs to be done here to make that a realistic possibility. So, instead, they will come up with something to determine the top 4 teams from that group of teams and they will go right to districts. Again, how do you figure out where Taholah goes?

I think they will be involved and the #1 seed from the Coastal league. Looks like dist 5 will cross over with dist 4 I think it is still being worked out on how it will all go. this is not a good situation for District 4, Sunnyside Christian is in District 5, and we all know their history

Not really wanting to get into this, but from what I read, the other teams have to play Taholah or Taholah will receive a forfeit. If they all forfeit to Taholah, they would be 10-0 and be the #1 team. I'm sure glad that we never had to go through something like this when I was an AD, but we did have the situation where a team played an ineligible player all year and had to forfeit all games that he played in, thus knocking them out of the playoffs when they were the #1 team in the league. This will be interesting to follow throughout the playoffs.

Ceferrier, My statement about the teams not having enough league games came from a comment from a person with much more knowledge and investment in the situation than I have. I do believe however that NFHS rules are that a team has to play 50% + league games to be eligible for post season. Also my comments have no inflection on our District glue-ing in with Dist. 4 May the best teams go to State.

It's something worth looking into. Maybe I will grab my WIAA handbook and delve into it a little deeper.
BTW...hearing that there's been some conclusion to the postseason seeding question...stay tuned

MMK vs Taholah boys and girls winner #1 seed from the north loser out WV vs NR boys only WV girls move on as the #2 because no NR girls team LQ vs Oakville boys and girls winner #3 loser out
Was a blind draw still a real bad situation all the way around from the beginning kids are suffering because of adults and that's wrong no matter what school they are from.

I would guess not but that is just a guess with no information from any of the schools involved.
