Ok. Here is my opinion. When you are #1 seed in the State Quarter Finals playing who is maybe: a #2, who is a Independent and given a # 2 seed, in which nobody really knows because they don't play a seeding playoff like most other teams in the state. Beside all of that, the #1 seed earns the right to be a home team, as a home team advantage, where and when the game is played. But not in our case yet again. Our Choice was this: we play closer to home, either Kingston- North Kitsap- Oak Harbor, not by choice of Silverdale because of the condition of their field and also the staff, which is another discussion in itself.
The only choice we were given was Silverdale, only (we still travel a longer distance). Ok, Friday night 7pm. Home team, #1 seed. Not an hour later, the Independent refuses to play at that day and time stating their fans can't get to the game because of work, their fans are the basis of the time and day we play. They are an hour away, we are traveling 3.5 hour, we have fans that all work. Now we don't get a say, #1 seed. This team is a #2 seed, who is an independent, who is calling the shots. We are all district 1,2,3... we can play in any of our districts. We can play at Oak Harbor, we can play in Lummi. In the past years, we have never had a say, as # 1 seed or not. When we were #2, we drove all the way to Moses Lake and never whined about it once. Is this right, no, not at all. #1 seed should have a say, they earned it.

I agree devilfan. That is the way it should be. As for silver dale, we WILL NOT broadcast at SIlverdale anymore because of how we were treated last year.(forks radio guys understand) You should also be able to play when ever you want and where ever you want, otherwise why would you want to be the #1 seed? WIAA needs to fix this amoungs other things.

devilfan the trip from Amanda Park to Silverdale is 2 hours and 45 minutes, not the hour you stated.

Until they put a turf field in at PA or Sequim, your travel will not change. But to complain about date and time is silly. If your fans also work you should be happy that the game is on Saturday, giving more people a chance to see your team.

You don't think we realize that unclebunk, of course we do. Kingston, Oak Harbor, North Kitsap are fine with us, but we are not given the choice. Those are all closer to us with great facilities and great people unlike Silverdale with a crappy field and crappy staff. If we are #1 and have earned that right to choose what day, so be it. You must not know much about gamesmanship, game days are vital in playoffs. The number of days to recover and prepare for your next one. Yes, our fans work as well, yes we will most likely will have more on Saturday than Friday night, but you seem to be missing the point being a #1 seed should have the say, they earned that right over one who is a independent and hasn't earned their seed and for them to refuse, ha. We shall see the outcome and let that be the last word.

The home team is on the bottom of the bracket. Both Neah Bay and Lummi are on the bottom of the backet. Lummi gets their game at Lummi against Lopez. Neah Bay should get their choice of field. What I think is happening here is that the WIAA is thinking $$$$$$$ and the Silverdale Stadium is less expensive to rent than any of the other fields. Just my opinion.

This is the latest news:
Must be played on Turf.
By WIAA rule if the two teams can’t agree on a time the game will be Saturday. If the visitor has to travel more than (I think) 100 miles, then they have a say in the matter.
Silverdale was the closest turf available. NKHS could not host this weekend. Don't know about other sites.
The teams could not agree, so Saturday it is and at Silverdale Stadium. This is the WIAA opinion, not mine.
I believe Neutral field, home team on bottom of bracket gets their pick of field.

I don't think Twin Valley cares where the game is,that is the WIAA's fault, but tell me why the date and time is such a big deal and don't say that we are the top seed and should be able to play when we want.

While I understand that the games must be played on a turf field, shouldn't they also be played at a neutral site? By the quarter final rounds it seems that it would be more fair for all teams. If Lopez was the 'home' team in this case, we'd have to still travel some place else as we (like Neah Bay and others) don't have a million dollar field at home...playing at a neutral site allows all teams to travel a similar distance and their fans as well. Just sayin'...

Neah Bay has proven they will play anywhere and obvious any time, they have traveled 1800 miles in playoffs before, just playoffs the year they won it, 2011. When we travel to play other teams, we don't ask for any time changes due to our long distance travel: Lyle, Lummi, etc., we also never cancel on a game . Just because we prefer to play at a decent field, a little closer to home on a Friday night, when any other playoff game is being played, we don't refuse because our fans can't make the game. We play a full season schedule, we don't pick and choose who we play and don't play, we earn our seeding. Again, you must not be too familiar with playoff standings or how to get the best out of each day for your team. Neah Bay has been there the last 6 of 7 seven years. Saturday it is, so you can have your fans there. All my post was about was, we should have say. We have never refused a game/time/place, some teams seems to refuse a lot of things... times or teams to play for that matter, etc. Not us. Good luck to all team in the playoffs.
