Class 1B State Championship Look-Ahead
Posted by dougd
Class 1B
Neah Bay Red Devils Coach: Tony McCaulley, seventh season, 78-11. Season Snapshot: Neah Bay (13-0) is ranked No. 1 for a reason. The Red Devils have scored 772 points en route to a fourth consecutive appearance in the championship game. The 26-20 semifinal win over Lummi was the fewest points Neah Bay has scored all season. Lummi is the only team to come close, in fact, also having lost 38-26 to the Red Devils in September.
Liberty Christian Patriots Coach: Mike Olson, eighth year, 51-22. Season Snapshot: The Patriots (12-0) have outscored opponents, 714-224. QB John Lesser has rushed for 1,826 yards and 29 TDs, and thrown for 1,255 yards and 19 TDs. RB Cody Daniels has added 1,155 rushing yards and 19 TDs. This is a rematch of the 2012 title game won by the Patriots, 34-28.

Could someone log onto the tri-city herald and post the writ-ups of the LC - NB game. I have used up all my 10 visits and a pay wall comes up. Thanks, coach K

I'm leaving in 90 minutes. If they don't turn the ball over NB should get their title.

Agree, TO will due a team in. However ball control may determine the outcome as well. No one has stopped the LC offense and NB won't either. Rupublic had a HORRIBLE game plan and played right into LC strengths. NB coaches won't make that mistake. Touchet had a great game plan when they played LC but gave up too many big plays. The NB offense will move the ball on LC, but LC hasn't given up too many big plays this year. NB strength vs LC speed. Prediction: the better team will win. LOL.

Neah Bay 48-34. I have said all year that I thought NB and Lummi were the top two teams in the State. If LC wins, I will certainly come back and give them the praise they are due in a few hours.
