Chitwhins eek out a 61-59 win to advance. Was that for the #1 seed for Regionals? Who did Taholah play?

Yes, that was for the #1 seed. They played Columbia Adventist. Almost let it slip away. Up by 11 in the 4th quarter, then got really conservative and CA came back to take the lead by 1 59-58. Taholah banked in the go ahead bucket with 11.1 I think making it 60-59. Taholah took a big risk by taking out their 6-3 big man on D, and went with a small lineup to pressure the guards. CA guard drove to the hoop, looked like he might have had a shot, but decided to kick it back out. Ball was stolen and immediately fouled with 1.1 left. Tahkeal missed the 1st of 2 FT's and hit the second making it 61-59. CA was unable to get a shot off before time expired.

Honestly, even though I am happy to have the overall District Champion title and be moving on to regionals, I wish there would have been a seeding game for the title. This game could have been to clinch a berth and then played the winner of the other part of the bracket for the title. This was only 11th game of the year for the Chitwhins, and now they play one game and sit for 2 weeks or whatever and wait for regionals to start.

Loggers survive Cougars’ final shot Boys basketball
Loggers 51, Cougars 49
ELMA — Wishkah’s fourth-quarter comeback held up when a last-second lay-up by Lyle-Wishram went awry in a District IV-V loser-out contest on Tuesday.
The Loggers (14-7), who got a game-high 20 points from Brady Anderson, won their first district game in recent memory and will take on Columbia Adventist in a winner-to-regionals, loser-out game Saturday at 8 p.m. at Montesano.
“We survived, but at the same time, we found a way to get a win,” Wishkah head coach Matt Ferrier said. “It was a great game between two pretty equal teams. It was a fun, competitive game and fun to get our first district win in many, many years.”
Wishkah trailed by five with two minutes to play before Anderson, Robert Rodriguez and Gavin Baltzell hit 3-point baskets to grab the momentum and the lead. The Loggers missed a few free throws that could have iced the game before the Cougars got a full-court sprint and lay-up at the buzzer that hit the iron too hard.
Baltzell pulled down six rebounds to help the Loggers. Chris Thein was cited for his play off the bench.

as long as they do not get in their own heads they should advance. If they are already thinking they should advance, they are in trouble. Wellpinit is the real deal. Long, athletic, can score in bunches. I would say Wellpinit has to be one of the favorites to win it all. LacWash will definitely have their hands full. That being said - I hope the tiger cats win!

none of these regional teams got here because of luck. most games will be tough for both teams. The winner will be the one who wants it the most. Good luck to all the teams, play hard.

Chitwhins over Tulalip 57-45. Chitwhins fell to this squad by 20 in their final game of the regular season. The Tulalip came storming back after being down 14 to start the 4th and got within 2 late. Chitwhins were able to hit some big shots to finally pull away for good. Fun game to watch.
