Centralia Man Calls Police to Report That Someone Stole Drugs From Him During Drug Deal
A Centralian was arrested after he called police to report a man who allegedly stole Oxycontin from him during a botched drug deal, according to Centralia police.
The man, 19-year-old Anthony D. Nelson, originally called 911 at about 9:30 p.m. Monday to report a theft of Oxycontin pills from his vehicle, according to Centralia police. Nelson told the dispatcher that he knew the man who stole the 15 pills, and that he was driving on Interstate 5 following the suspect’s car.
Nelson pursued the suspect vehicle for several miles, reaching speeds between 80 to 100 mph, according to Centralia police. Nelson then pulled over to speak with a Centralia police officer, and the other car was pulled over by a state trooper near exit 68 outside of Chehalis.
After contacting the suspect, Terrence B. Joshua, 20 of Vancouver, officers realized that Nelson knew Joshua, and had arranged to meet him to sell him the narcotics, according to Centralia police.
Joshua, however, allegedly stole the pills and drove away without paying for them, according to Centralia police. In an attempt to retrieve the drugs, police say, Nelson called police and made up a fictitious report about a theft. Joshua was booked into the Lewis County Jail on suspicion of delivery of a controlled substance, and Nelson was booked for alleged delivery of a controlled substance and malicious prosecution.
