The Bay Eagles hosted the Puyallup Kings Saturday night in Neah Bay in an 11-man semi-pro football game. The Eagles won a physical contest 22 to 14 and was led offensively by Eric Johnson, Jr. who ran for a score and threw for a score to Drexler Doherty. Eric was also on the receiving end of a pass from Tim Greene, Jr. For a PAT. Jared Brooks received a 3 yard pass from Greene, Jr. For the other 2 point conversion. Adam Lovik scored the final touchdown for the Eagles. Defensively, the Eagles gave up 6 points early in the first then didn't break again until the final minutes of the 4th when the Kings connected down the left sideline on a long scoring pass that narrowed the margin to 8 points with 2:30 to play. Physical secondary play led by Zak Greene and Freddy Castaneda and solid performance from linebackers Jesse Chartraw, Larry Hoogstraten and Jeremiah Greene led to a slew of 3 and outs for the Kings. Team owner and the elder of the team at 42 years old set up camp in the Kings backfield posting several sacks, QB pressures and a forced fumble. The Kings were treated to a potluck dinner after the game where both teams enjoyed the fellowship of football families. Thank you Marla Tolliver and Leroy and Nicole Dalos for their work on the potluck.
