Crescent 78, Lake Quinault 44
AMANDA PARK — Crescent got 19 points each from Eric Emery and K.C. Spencer in a season-opening 78-44 win over Lake Quinault.
McCabe Story added 10 points and Wyatt McNeese 13 for the Loggers.
“It was a good start. We figured out how to put the ball in the hole,” said Coach Chris Ferrier. Spencer, who played much of the football season with a cast on his arm, didn’t seem to have any ill effects from his football injury.
“He tore it [the cast] off and threw it aside” during practice, Ferrier said.
Crescent (1-0) next plays Tuesday, hosting Quilcene.

Sequim JV 63, Crescent 60
SEQUIM — The Loggers nearly completed a fourth-quarter comeback against the (2A) Wolves JV, chiseling Sequim’s 20-point lead down to three late in the game.
“[We were] tied halftime, down by six [after three quarters], then Sequim really got a big head of steam in the fourth and got us down 20 at 59-39,” Crescent coach Chris Ferrier said.
“We could have folded the tents and let it get away but the guys kept up the effort and desire and we actually had two chances at a 3-pointer to tie at the end of the game, the ball just wouldn’t drop.”
Ferrier said 6'4" 235lb McCabe Story played an outstanding game in dropping in 21 points.
“6'2" 230lb Neil Peppard also was fantastic with 16 points and seven rebounds,” & not to forget our huge 6'4" 295lb beast Wyatt McNeese was a terror on the boards with 8", Ferrier said.
“Credit to my guys for refusing to quit. We’ve come a long way.”
The Loggers (1-1) will visit the Port Angeles C Squad Wed.
Tuesday’s boys and girls basketball doubleheader at home against Quilcene was cancelled due to weather.
